Tourist Travel Requirements for a Mozambique Visa for Canadian Citizens
Visa May Not Be Required
No visa is required for a maximum stay of 30 days. Please keep in mind that if you are staying less than 30 days you must:
- Hold a passport valid for at least six months with at least one blank visa page
- Hold proof of onward and return flights
- Hold all documents required for the next destination
- Hold proof of sufficient funds relative to your intended length of stay
- Confirm with your airline prior to your travel date that boarding will be permitted without a visa

The Government of Mozambique utilises an electronic visa issuance system which is the equivalent to a visa, but no stamp or label is placed in the passport.
To be eligible the traveller must:
- Hold a passport valid at least six months on entry with one blank visa page
- Hold proof of sufficient funds
- Hold proof of onward/return flights
- Hold proof of hotel reservation
- Hold all documents required for the next destination
To complete the order form the traveller must provide:
- A photograph
- A copy of the passport information page
- A flight confirmation
- A Business Cover Letter
- A hotel confirmation
- A copy of the most recent bank statement

When is the best time to apply for my Mozambique visa?
The best time to apply for your Mozambique visa is 1-2 months before your travel date. -
Do I have to send you my passport to get a Mozambique visa? Is it safe to send a passport?
Yes. You will need to send your actual passport, not a copy of it. The Mozambique visa is stamped on your passport and will become one of your passport pages. Visa request cannot be processed without your original passport. Because of the importance of your passport, we strongly suggest that you send your application in a secure way, using a traceable courier such as FedEx.
